Install sharepoint 2013 on windows server 2012

Your system will need to restart after you press Finish. When you reboot and login you may find that the wizard will run again. If this is the case just let the wizard finish and press Finish again. For this installation I will be selecting Complete. For File Location the defaults were left. When you open Central Administration for the first time, which should launch after you click Finish you will be prompted to complete the farm wizard.

You will be prompted to start the Configuration Wizard. Select create a new managed account. This will start the install of AppFabric and a bunch of other required services. If you cannot get it to go past AppFabric then reboot your system and let it try again. You will be asked to restart the machine several times during this process. Do it and then log back into the same local admin account and the setup will resume automatically. Once it finishes installing pre-requisites go ahead and do a final reboot one last time.

For this install we are not going to install as complete. Instead you are going to choose stand-alone. After the install completes close the installer. If they are disabled then enable them, set them to automatic, and start them. If you get a error change the credentials to the local admin account to run it. Go to the start menu and type in Share. There will be three things listed.

You want the configuration tool. Run it as admin. Let it configure and install the remaining items. Here is where it will cause frustration. When it fails usually does don't freak out. If it doesnt fail then you are good and can update to the latest CU. If it does fail then continue below. I know the installer had Sp1 integrated but somehow down the line not everything installs correctly from the default install.

Run the config tool again. This time it will complete with no errors and allow you to log into the admin center.

Once that happens you can install the latest CU! There is a lot of compatibility issues with the installer and Server 12 Standard. If you are on R2 this may not be an issue at all as R2 is a lot more supported and has a lot more hotfixes installed. If you need help then ask! You can install the pre-requisites using the Install software prerequisites option from the main screen. For the installation I have used Windows Server R2 trial version.

If you already have a server operating system installed you can skip this step and proceed directly with SharePoint Installation. The image file is 3. ImgBurn is a tool to burn. Please note that this operating system installation step can be skipped if you already have Windows Server in place. Ensure your Operating System has a valid domain integration. Download the highlighted version and install it.

Before installation you need to create a domain account to specify it during the SQL Server installation. Run the setup.
